Niaspan
I'm 76 and have severe arteriosclerosis. So my doctor put me on Niaspan. This drug has made a dramatic difference in my cholesterol numbers and I'm no longer afraid of sleeping in an empty house. I take the Niaspan every night in order to follow my doc's instructions carefully. You see I'm still alive! Isn't it a miracle with my cholesterol level?!
I've been taking Niaspan for five years now. I've only had one episode of flushing since starting this medication. But I've had no problems since then. It's the only thing that has ever raised my good cholesterol level. My doctor is going to continue the treatment with Niaspan as he is very satisfied with the result and I agree with him - the drug does its job!
I've been on this medication for more than half a year and it was like a miracle medicine for my case. I suffer with ulcers really bad on my fingers. Before starting the Niaspan I had ulcers on every finger on both hands, was on pain killers all the time, however I'm now off the pain medicines since last week, the wounds are disappearing quickly. The medication is working and I'm happy I found it.
Three pills of Niaspan lowered my total cholesterol by 25 points. Amy doctor decided to add one more pill daily which will hopefully put my cholesterol at a still better level. Initial side effects of flushing and weird-feeling have disappeared quickly. So far it's great, especially since prior to starting I lost 20 pounds, started on a vegetarian diet and dairy products, and began on a daily walking program.
